How do I create an account?

You can sign up using Apple Sign In, Google Sign In, or email/password. Simply tap the "Sign In" button on the home screen and choose your preferred method.

How does the Elo rating system work?

Your Elo rating changes based on game outcomes. Winning against higher-rated opponents gains more points, while losing to lower-rated opponents loses more points. Each time control (Blitz, Rapid, Classical) has separate ratings.

What are tournaments and how do I join?

Tournaments run daily, weekly, and monthly. Simply play ranked games during the tournament period - all your games automatically count toward the leaderboard. The more you win, the higher you rank!

Can I play offline?

Yes! You can play against AI opponents or use Pass & Play mode for local multiplayer without an internet connection.

How do I challenge friends?

Go to the Friends tab, search for your friend's username, send a friend request, and once accepted, you can challenge them directly to a match.

What are the doubling cube rules?

The doubling cube lets you increase the stakes of a match. When you think you have an advantage, you can offer to double the points. Your opponent can accept (and gain ownership of the cube) or resign and forfeit the current stake.

How do I improve my game?

Check out the Lessons tab! We have comprehensive tutorials covering opening moves, strategy, endgame play, and advanced tactics. You can also analyze your completed games to learn from mistakes.

Why was I disconnected from my game?

Disconnections can happen due to network issues. If you disconnect, you have a short window to reconnect. If you don't reconnect in time, the game may be forfeited. Make sure you have a stable internet connection for online play.

Account Management

How do I change my username?

Currently, usernames are set during account creation and cannot be changed. If you need to change your username, please contact support.

How do I reset my password?

On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot Password" and follow the instructions sent to your email.

How do I delete my account?

To permanently delete your account:

  1. Open the app and sign in
  2. Go to Profile/Account tab
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account"
  4. Confirm your decision

⚠️ Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your game history, statistics, Elo ratings, and friend connections will be permanently deleted.

Technical Issues

The app is crashing

Try these steps:

  1. Force close the app completely
  2. Restart your device
  3. Check for app updates in the App Store
  4. If the issue persists, contact support with your device model and iOS version

I'm not receiving notifications

Make sure:

The board looks wrong or pieces are overlapping

Try rotating your device to refresh the layout. If the issue persists, close and reopen the app. Contact support if the problem continues.
